Can I temporarily eliminate customisations from my Sage 200 system to help me troubleshoot an environmental problem
Description

I am troubleshooting a problem with Sage 200 which is only apparent on the live site. The customer has some bespoke add-ins installed, is there an easy way of eliminating the customisations from our inquiries?

Cause
Resolution

The recommendation would be to remove the add-on fully in order to completely rule out their involvement. The following advice could be followed as a quick test to rule in the bespoke (i.e. if the problem does not occur when the advice is followed then the bespoke would become the prime suspect; the problem continuing to occur does not fully rule out the involvement of the add-ins).

It is extremely important that you use a test copy of the affected data and that you replicate the problem in that data set before proceeding.

  1. Launch Sage 200 and open the test data
  2. Browse to  %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Sage\Sage200
  3. Within this folder you will need to rename folders or individual files that link to your 3rd party add-on

TIP:  Compare the folder structure with a default vanilla environment to help you identify what are 3rd party folders and files.

Ensure the folders and files are renamed back when your troubleshooting is complete.
