Period Trial Balance

The period trial balance report shows a list of all nominal codes in your system with a value in a period you select. It gets its figures from the period values of each nominal code record.

  1. Click Nominal codes.
  2. Click Trial balance  then click Preview.
  3. Click Run and select the required period.
  4. Click OK.

Common questions

Why don't my Trial Balance figures balance?

The trial balance should always balance due to double entry bookkeeping.  If the report doesn't balance, it can suggest data corruption, or other issues with the report.  Read more >

Where does the report get it's figures?

The report picks up the figures from the actuals column for the required month within each nominal code.

Can I run the Trial Balance for a specific date range, for example a prior year?

You can run the Transactional Trial Balance report to specify a date range.  This is because transactional reports use individual transactions to generate the report.  Read more >
