Change the password for an existing payroll
Description

Already set up individual user access rights and passwords? Add another layer of security by setting a payroll password in just a few steps.

Change your payroll password


  1. Login to Payroll as Admin
  2. On the menu bar, click Company then click Company Setup.
  3. Click the payroll you want to change the password for and make a note of the name.
  4. Select the company name, click Change Payroll Password.
  5. Enter your password into New Password and Confirm New Password fields. Your password must:
    • Be between eight and 15 characters
    • Contain at least one letter
    • Contain at least one number
    • Contain at least one special character
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Close.
  8. On the menu bar, click Login then click Login to a Payroll.
  9. When prompted, enter your login details then click OK to access the relevant payroll.

Change your payroll password - v2022 and below

  1. Login to Payroll as Admin. Find out How to log in as the Sage Payroll administrator to do this.
  2. On the menu bar, click Company then click Company Setup.
  3. Click on the payroll you want to change the password for and make a note of the payroll's name.
  4. Click Add New Payroll, then complete the following information:
    Payroll IDEnter the name of the payroll you noted in step 3.
    Licence NameChoose the company to which the payroll belongs. Choose the company to which the payroll belongs.
    PasswordEnter a new password.
    FrequencyChoose the pay frequency of the payroll. For example, weekly, monthly or fortnightly.
  5. Click Create.
  6. Select Reset password and/or Licence name only, then click OK.
  7. Click Close.
  8. On the menu bar, click Login then click Login to a Payroll.
  9. When prompted, enter your login details then click OK to access the relevant payroll.
