Create a service invoice or credit note for a project You can only enter a project reference as a service on an invoice. This is because a project isn't the sale of individual goods, it's the sale of a complete project. - On the navigation bar click Invoices and credits, then click New Invoice or New credit.
- In the Format drop-down click Service.
- Enter your invoice or credit note header details, such as the date and customer reference, in the boxes provided.
- Enter the required details for the invoice.
- To enter a project ref, click the required item line then press F3.
- In the Project Ref drop-down, click the required project.
If required, you can enter a different project reference on each item line. - Click OK, click Save, then click Close.
Now you've created the invoice or credit note. If you don't offer customer discount, follow the Update a service invoice or credit note to a project section. Check customer discounts If you offer customer discounts, the software automatically applies it to invoices, reducing the total billed. This causes a difference in the final invoice amount and the amount you want to bill for the project. To invoice the full project amount, remove the discount from each invoice line before updating it to the ledgers: - ,On each line of the service invoice, press F3 to open the Edit Item Line window.
- Change the Discount % and Disc. GBP £ values to 0.00.
- Update the invoice to the ledgers to update the values on the project record.
You can now follow the Update a service invoice or credit note to a project section. Update a service invoice or credit note to a project - On the navigation bar, click Invoices and credits.
- Click the invoice or credit note you want to update, then click Update ledgers.
- Click the required output for the update report, click OK then complete the output windows as required.
