Report Designer - Snippets
Description

The Expression Editor in Sage Report Designer contains a Snippets Manager feature, which you can use to save common expressions and calculations to use in future expressions and filters.

Create a snippet using the Expression Snippets Manager

  1. Select a document and click Edit.
  2. In Report Designer, click Tools, then click Expression Snippets Manager.
  3. Select the required snippet group and click Add.
  4. Complete the Name, Description and Author boxes as required.
  5. Click Build and create your filter or expression.
  6. Click OK.

Save a snippet from an existing expression

  1. In the Expression Editor window, click Save As Snippet.
  2. Select the group into which you want to save your snippet, or to create a new group click Add.
  3. Complete the Name, Description and Author boxes as required, then click OK.

Use a saved snippet

  1. Creating your expressions or filter as normal.
  2. In the Functions pane, double-click the Snippets folder.
  3. Expand the group containing your snippet, then Double-click the required snippet
  4. Complete your expression, then click OK.

Modify a snippet

  1. Click Tools, then click Expression Snippets Manager.
  2. Double-click the group containing your snippet, then select your snippet.
  3. Click Modify and make the changed you require.
  4. Click Build, then click OK.

Delete a snippet

  1. Click Tools, then click Expression Snippets Manager.
  2. Double-click the group containing your snippet.
  3. Select your snippet and click Remove.
  4. Click Yes, then click OK.
